How to Play Word Madness

Word Madness is a mobile word puzzle game in which you swipe connecting letters on a circular wheel to form words. This guide walks through every mechanic from the opening screen to advanced VIP levels.

Step 1 - Understand the letter wheel

Each level presents a circular arrangement of letter tiles. You swipe from one letter to an adjacent letter to build a word. The connection must follow a continuous path - you cannot skip tiles. When you lift your finger at the end of a valid word, the letters light up and the word is accepted.

The wheel has a fixed number of tiles per level. Early levels may have as few as three tiles. Later levels can have eight or more. The total count of tiles is shown in the level header.

Step 2 - Find the required words

Every level has a required word list. These words are shown as blank slots in the answer grid below the wheel. You must find every required word to complete the level and advance to the next one. Required words are always formable from the letter set on the wheel.

Difficulty is based on the number of required words: Easy levels have up to six required words, Medium levels have seven to eleven, and Hard levels have twelve or more.

Step 3 - Discover bonus words

Beyond the required word list, most wheels contain additional valid English words. Finding these bonus words earns coins but does not affect level completion. A bonus word is any word formable from the tile set that is not on the required list.

Some bonus words use all the tiles in the pool simultaneously. These full-pool words are highlighted when found because they are harder to discover and typically worth more coins.

Step 4 - Use hints wisely

If you are stuck, tap the coin icon (hint button) to reveal one unrevealed letter in the answer grid. This costs coins. Coins are earned by completing levels and finding bonus words. Spend hints only on levels where you have exhausted all guesses - save your coin reserve for the longer Hard levels that will appear later.

Step 5 - Advance to VIP levels

VIP levels unlock after you reach a certain number of completed standard levels. VIP levels have larger wheels and more required words. The mechanics are identical but the challenge is substantially higher. Treat VIP levels as endgame content - do not rush to unlock them before you have built a solid vocabulary from the standard level progression.

Step 6 - Use the daily and Wordle modes

Word Madness includes a daily puzzle that changes each day and a Wordle-style challenge. Daily puzzles give bonus coins on completion. The Wordle mode asks you to identify a hidden word using green and yellow tile feedback over six guesses - green means the letter is correct and in the right position, yellow means the letter exists but is in a different position.

Step 7 - Search for answers here

If you are stuck on any standard level, use the letter search tool on this site. Enter the letters showing on your wheel and the tool will identify the matching level and display all required words. You can also browse directly by range: levels 1-100, and so on through all available levels.

Common mistakes to avoid

New players often make three errors: spending hints on Easy levels, ignoring bonus words when coins run low, and not recognising full-pool words. Track your coin balance and prioritise bonus word hunting on Medium levels where the extra words are plentiful but the level is not long enough to drain too much time.
